Bristol “Shorty” Vincent David 96 Stockton, Missouri was born in Pontiac, Michigan to Luis and Josephine Vincent David. He quit school in the 10th grade following the death of his father, to go to work to support his mother & two sisters, that have passed.
He worked at General Motors, Wilson Foundry Plant. Then to Grinell Brothers Piano Co. and also the Grimald, Buick Dealership before retiring at 65 years old in 1980.
Shorty then moved to Missouri and traveled back and forth to Michigan and decided to settle in Stockton, MO. Shorty never had a ticket or accident in 80 years of driving and only stopped once by Highway Patrol Trooper J.D. Starbuck who reminded him to change his drivers license from Michigan to Missouri.
Shorty was the only man I knew that had hundreds of friends and no enemies. Shorty’s favorite pastime was hanging out in the coffee shops and visiting with anyone who would strike up a conversation. He will be missed by so many with the smile he had and stories. We have all been blessed and thank God for letting us enjoy his presents in our lifetime. Shorty has left a memory of anyone in a coffee shop would still feel his presents. Shorty loved Stockton and all the people he was associated with and may God bless him.
In the passing of his life, on May 8, 2012 at the age of 96, just 81 bays short of 97, we would often tell him, if he made it to 100 years old he would smoke a cigar with young friends as George Burns did.
We will all miss him and love him forever. Bristol Vincent David known as Shorty gone at the young age of 96 and ¾ Heaven bound.
Memorial services will be June 2nd at 10:00 AM at the top of Stockton Dam with Pastor Charles Hayton.
